The Global Evangelical Church has opened nomination for the 2nd Very Rev. Edward Kodzo Amenyedu Leadership Excellence Award.

This award scheme is a highly competitive one which is aimed at celebrating church members who show exemplary leadership with positive impact on the vision and mission of Global Evangelical Church.

VERY REV. EDWARD KODZO AMENYEDU LEADERSHIP AWARD 2023

Calvary greetings.

On behalf of the Synod Committee, I am pleased to announce the opening of nominations across all congregations for the 2nd Very Rev. Edward Kodzo Amenyedu Leadership Excellence Award, instituted in memory of the First Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Very Rev. E. K. Amenyedu.

The Award, which is highly competitive, is aimed at celebrating church members who show exemplary leadership with positive impact on the vision and mission of the Global Evangelical Church.

Whereas eligible persons are encouraged to apply, members should also feel free to nominate candidates who deserve the special recognition by the Church at large.

All nominations must be submitted to the Presbytery Office by the 30th of April, 2023, which is the deadline, for evaluation and vetting at the Presbytery level. The Presbytery would then transmit the qualified candidate(s) to the Head Office by 22nd of May, 2023.

Do find attached, further requirements and instructions for eligibility and completion of the nomination process in addition to the Nomination Form itself, to be filled by eligible candidates.

VERY REV. AMENYEDU LEADERSHIP AWARD 1. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS

Anyone may submit a nomination for the Leadership Award for himself or herself or for others but with the candidate’s permission. Local sessions may also nominate candidates. Nominations must clearly document why the candidate should be considered above all others, for this distinguished award. All nominations must contain enough information to inform the selection process without additional research. Each nomination submitted
must include:
I. The candidate’s curriculum vitae or resume to provide the
Selection Committee with a more comprehensive overview of the
candidate’s accomplishments and experiences


ii. Description of how the candidate fulfils the criteria described under the “Eligibility and Selection Criteria”. This must be supported by evidence in the form of records, pictures, testimonials etc.

  1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
    i. Nominees must be registered members of the Global Evangelical
    Church.
    ii. Nominees must be in leadership positions at a local congregation, presbytery, or national level.
    iii. Nominees who are not in any designated leadership position but have met the selection criteria as determined by the Selection Committee.
    iv. Nominees who are members of the Selection Committee either at the
    National or Presbytery level shall recuse themselves from the selection process.
  2. NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
    Nominations shall be opened from 1st to 30th April, 2023
    i. Sealed nominations shall be submitted to the respective Presbytery Chairman by post, courier or hand delivery.
    ii. The Presbytery Executive shall vet the nominations in line with the selection criteria, prescribed by the Selection Committee, and verify the claims in the nominations with the local Pastor or Evangelist or an independent source as may be deemed necessary for the sake of Anyone may submit a nomination for the Leadership Award for himself or herself or for others but with the candidate’s permission. Local sessions may also nominate candidates. Nominations must clearly document why the candidate should be considered above all others, for this distinguished award.     must include:
    The candidate’s curriculum vitae or resume to provide the
    Selection Committee with a more comprehensive overview of the
    candidate’s accomplishments and experiences
    (Note: After reviewing the initial nomination submissions, the Selection Committee may ask for and require additional reference letters to assist in
    the evaluation of the candidates under consideration).confidentiality and possible victimization or wilful suppression of information.

iii. The criteria shall include, but not limited to some ranking or rating system which shall be used at the Presbytery and National levels to determine the overall winner.
iv. A maximum of three (3) nominations shall be selected by the Presbytery Executive for onward submission to the Selection Committee through the Synod Clerk.
v. Nominations from the Presbyteries shall reach the Head office by
22nd May, 2023.
vi. Nominations from the Presbyteries shall be vetted by the Selection Committee which shall conduct interviews for shortlisted nominees on phone or by physical presence and shall conduct physical verification of documents where necessary.
vii. The Selection Committee shall submit their report by 5th June, 2023 to enable the Executive to give an update at the Synod Committee meeting in June 2023.
viii. The Synod Committee shall select or approve the final winner.

  1. SELECTION CRITERIA
    The selection criteria shall include the following attributes among others:
    i. Commitment to evangelism with evidence of church planting, winning souls that have been retained in the Church and evidence of interest in and/or facilitation of the spiritual growth of converts.
    ii. The sacrifice of substance, resources, time, talent and gifts of the Holy Spirit for the cause of the Church.
    iii. Faithfully discharged financial obligations especially Tithe and evidence of supporting the Church’s physical and social projects.
    iv. Undisputed record of humility, willingness and readiness to participate in activities of the Church including missions, teaching, preaching, seminars, retreats, bible study, prayer and fasting and projects.
    v. Undisputed record of integrity and high moral standards.
    vi. Exemplary leadership qualities in any of the ministries of the church, i.e. children’s ministry, youth ministry, men’s and women’s
    ministry.
